![]() By Mike at April 30, 2012 - 21:37 April has been a busy month. We started the month celebrating Easter and Alumni weekend and ended it with a quick trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. Everything in between was just a blur... The Easter weekend in Wilburton was good times. The boys love all things Easter, so they loved the nonstop egg dying and easter egg hunting action. Charlene and I made our debut in the Alumni softball game. We didn't manage to help the odds end their 3 year losing streak, but we tried to keep it competitive. Here are a few pics from our trip to Wilburville:
Our children smile pretty for the camera...
Charlene has some good photography skillz.
Careful... careful...
Now we eat ALL the eggs, right? I think he put away at least four eggs in one sitting. I bet you can't guess what the next poop smelled like... We took the boys to the Great Wolf Lodge for a mini vacation. It was good to get away and we had an awesome time. When we got there, Eli walked up to the window where he could see the waterpark and said "AWESOME!". Then everything about everything for the rest of the trip was "AWESOME!". The boys would have slept on the water slides if we would have let them. Here's a few pics from the trip:
Eli was ready to go!
Goggles were a necessity at all times on this trip.
We were so excited about slides!
They have grown just a little since last time.
We were so tired by the time story time rolled around, our eyes were rolling into the back of our heads. There's a lot more Easter and Wolf Lodge pics in the April 2012 album.
![]() By Mike at March 20, 2012 - 21:29 Making it through a winter with two small boys in your house is no easy task. They destroy everything. We had to turn our guest bedroom into a "play room" in an attempt to isolate the damage. One of the energy burners in the play room is a sweet trampoline that Beau got for his bday from his good friend Piper. It makes ridiculous noises every time you jump on it, so the boys love jumping on it. Too bad it gets really annoying after a few minutes for anybody having to listen. It does make for some awesome pics though...
The boys only got to enjoy one snow day this year, and it barely lasted long enough to make a snow mickey.
If the temps ever got above 50, I usually forced us to play outside. We had a few chilly days at the playground, but I think Spring is officially here now.
Beau started playing soccer a few weeks ago. He can kick and throw like a beast, and he loves going to practices, but his performance in games has been a little.... what's the right word... sad. He's getting better though. He had a hard time getting past everybody not taking turns to kick the ball, so he mostly just stood there and hoped that the ball would come to him.
Here's Eli kicking back and enjoying one of Beau's soccer games. Eli is really sad that he's not old enough to play yet. Maybe Beau's team will not have enough players one of these days and Eli can sub in.
Eli has also been practicing tball at the house. I uploaded some video of him in action: Santa brought Beau a kid camera for Christmas, and I now have about 400 awesome kid made videos. These crazy children crack me up... Mike's blog | 2 comments | 98 reads
![]() By Mike at January 9, 2012 - 20:43 My little man Beau has turned four years old! I stayed home to celebrate his birthday on the 4th and then we threw him a spiderman party this last weekend. He was trying to make me quit my job when he was about to blow out his candles and wished that Daddy would stay home from work all the time. Who needs money when you can stay home and play! I haven't made his wish come true quite yet, but I'll probably play the lottery at least a couple times to see if I can make it happen. Here's a few pics from the party.
This picture makes me laugh for some reason.
He blew out the candles like a champ.
My wife is an amazing woman and makes some pretty special cakes for our boys!
Eli enjoying gigantic bites of cake and ice cream.
I decided it would be a good idea to get 13 cans of silly string and let kids spray the "green goblin" with their "web". Not the best idea I've had... I think I still have some silly string somewhere in my nasal cavity. I think the children enjoyed it though, so it's totally worth it. Beau had a good birthday and had a hard time believing all those presents were for him. He asked if next year his birthday would be on Jan 5th since he would be turning 5. We told him it would always be the 4th... that concept was just too difficult to understand. Good thing we have a year to get that figured out. More bday pics in the Jan 2012 album. |
